An argument over a cell phone between a man and a juvenile in Holly Springs, Ga., has landed one of them in jail, police said.
(An original version of this story identified the two as Home Depot co-workers. A company spokesman said Saturday the two were not employees of the home improvement retailer.)
Police responded to an assault in progress at the Home Depot on 4520 Old Highway 5, around 8 a.m. Friday. When officers arrived they were told that Christopher Lee Chappel pulled a knife on a juvenile when the juvenile confronted Chappel about having his cell phone.
Chappel was arrested on an aggravated assault charge for allegedly pulling the knife out of his pockets, threatening the victim. After Chappel began walking toward the juvenile with the knife in his hand, the juvenile took a golf club out of the truck the two had arrived in and began striking Chappel.
Chappel was arrested at the scene and transported to Cherokee County Adult Detention Center. The juvenile wasn't at the scene when police arrived and won't be facing charges, according to police.
