Loganville’s Water Quality Control facility at 4895 Highway 81 North is being expanded and retrofitted to meet future demands. The $4.8 million expansion will replace obsolete equipment and introduce new technologies designed to improve water quality and plant efficiency. The plans also include a new two-story administration building.

Following this initial phase of improvements, the Water Quality Control Department will grow to a maximum capacity of 5 million gallons of water treated per day.

Currently the facility is permitted to discharge up to 1.75 million gallons of treated water per day into the Big Flat Creek with a second permit allowing an additional 250,000 gallons used for irrigation on 40 acres near the plant.

The project is being paid for with a loan from the Georgia Environmental Finance Authority and Walton County SPLOST funds.
