Update:
A Waffle House near Sandy Springs has passed its re-inspection from the health department after being cited for “live roaches.”
When a Fulton County inspector came back on Thursday, they found "dead roaches" and gave the restaurant a new score, 95 out of 100.
This comes about a week and a half after the restaurant, 5335 Roswell Road, earned a failing score of 58.
“We are working with our pest control vendor to correct the issues,” said Waffle House spokesman Pat Warner said at the time of the failure.
In addition to the dead roaches, the inspection report also notes following violations:
• “Shelving with mold/mildew and rust”
• “Build up of food debris/dirt on walk in cooler and freezer floors”
• “Grease accumulation mixed with straw/leaves at exterior of restaurant”
These were all listed as new violations in the inspection report.

Part of the violation regarding the roaches was that the restaurant was “unable to provided pest control logs,” according to the health department’s report.
On Wednesday, Warner said: “Our corporate food safety team is meeting with the restaurant management team today to ensure our policies are in place and our associates are coached adequately on them. Our goal is to offer a positive experience to all of our guests, and we are sorry to disappoint our customers in this case.”

The inspector noted several foods in the cooler that were too warm. Food items, including eggs, were thrown away.
There were also thermometers missing from the freezer and two coolers.
The restaurant scored a 99 during its October 2018 inspection and a 92 during March 2018.
