The Lilburn City Council voted in November to ask the State of Georgia Traffic Engineering Department to consider reducing the speed limit on Main Street from 30 mph to 25 mph. The vote includes a request for speed monitoring devices on Pleasant Hill Road to enforce the existing 45 mph speed limit.

Currently Main Street has a 30 mph speed limit, but the city’s roundabouts are designed for 25 mph.

The council agreed changing the entire street to 25 mph will allow for better safety and consistency.
