Lawrenceville is in the process of accepting bids for the Park Place Pedestrian Safety Improvement Project. The purpose of the project is to make improvements to Park Place Drive without shifting traffic volume onto adjacent streets. The project seeks to slow traffic and improve pedestrian safety with the installation of traffic calming devices, curb and gutters, storm drainage improvements, sidewalks, street lighting and bicycle accommodations.

Park Place Drive, which connects between Simonton Road and Grayson Highway/State Route 20, currently has two 12-foot traffic lanes with no curb and gutter or sidewalks. The completed project will cover approximately 4,600 linear feet.

The city is accepting bids for the work until 3 p.m. Nov. 30.
