Lawrenceville’s David Still to run unopposed for mayor

Lawrenceville Council Member and former Downtown Development Authority Member David Still is the only candidate to qualify to run for mayor in the Nov. 5 municipal election. In addition, Victoria Jones will continue in her current position on the city council as the only qualifying candidate for Council Post 2.

Eric Hoskins, Glenn Martin and Austin Thompson have all qualified to run for Council Post 1, the seat David Still is vacating.

Lawrenceville’s mayor and council members serve four-year terms, not to exceed a total of 12 consecutive years. Qualifying candidates must be a resident of the city for more than one year, a registered voter, and pay a fee that is 3 percent of the current pay for the position in which they are qualifying.

Elections for the 2020 year will take place 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. Nov. 5 at City Hall, 70 S. Clayton St. Early voting will begin Oct. 14. Elected officials will take office at the first organizational meeting in January.
