Gwinnett Commissioners approved a contract Dec. 1 to replace the water main along Johnson Road in Suwanee. The contract goes to low bidder, Strack, Inc. for $1,002,430. The work is part of the Department of Water Resources’ proactive initiative to ensure adequate fire protection is provided to citizens.
The construction will upsize the current 8-inch pressurized ductile iron water main with a new 16-inch water main. Most of the original lines were installed during the late 1980’s. Approximately 5,700 linear feet 16-inch DIP will be installed. This upsize will provide adequate fire protection to Riverside Elementary School, Highlands at Bridgegate, Grandview the Enclave, Ashleigh Walk, and Edinburgh Subdivisions.
