Johns Creek will hold in March what it says will be the first of a series of monthly public informational open houses about the proposed widenings of Jones Bridge and McGinnis Ferry roads.
The meeting is scheduled for 6 to 8 p.m. March 8 in City Hall Council Chambers.
Studies are continuing on mitigating noise and the property impacts, officials said. Contractors are coming up with designs for sound barriers such as berms, walls, fences or a combination of each; while the Public Works Department has strongly recommended that medians in McGinnis Ferry be limited to eight feet in width to reduce the impact on property.

Johns Creek is working with Alpharetta, Forsyth County, the Georgia Department of Transportation and the contractors to design the projects.
Construction on Jones Bridge between Sargent and McGinnis Ferry roads is not expected to begin until the end of 2018; and on McGinnis Ferry from Sargent in Johns Creek to Union Hill Road/Ronald Reagan Boulevard in Forsyth, until the end of 2019.
