Saying they seek transparency in city finances, Johns Creek officials have announced an “Open Checkbook” online financial data portal where residents can see how their tax dollars are being spent.

“By providing this financial data to our taxpayers, it emphasizes the city of Johns Creek’s commitment to transparency,” said Mayor Mike Bodker.

The website offers charts, graphs and tables so users can find payment information by department, vendor and expenditure type. Information can be browsed through clicks or searched using a search field.

The site offers a list of vendors, categories and descriptions of spending.
