The Johns Creek City Council has approved a contract with D&H Construction to install three segments of sidewalk to plug gaps in the city’s sidewalk system along Parsons Road from Abbotts Bridge Road to Highgate Manor Court.

The segments are along an elementary school walking route and near several religious institutions, staff said in a report to the council.

The project limits of the three sections are the south side of Parsons from Wake Forest Run to Stonefield Landing, 1,500 linear feet; the west side of Highgate Manor from Parsons to Branham Fields Road, 230 linear feet; and northeast Parsons near Abbotts Bridge, 750 linear feet.

The $181,540 contract was approved with a change order of up to $150,000 to fill two gaps along Parsons, between Abbotts Bridge and the bridge over Johns Creek, with 5-foot-wide sidewalks. This will create a continuous sidewalk to the bridge, staff said
