The non-profit Trust for Public Land is partnering with the city of Johns Creek in the acquisition and development of 133 acres of park land.

City officials said trust officials are contributing $1.5 million toward the $20.3 million purchase price for the tract that lies on the Chattahoochee River at Cauley Creek. The nonprofit group will also work with the city on professional services related to the deal. Those include a public opinion survey and research on how to fund development of the park.

The city council authorized Mayor Mike Bodker to finalize a purchase agreement for the land in November. The park will be adjacent to the Rogers Bridge Trail and the proposed Rogers Bridge connection to Duluth. City officials said no specific development plans have been made, but the public will have the opportunity to weigh in.
