The Johns Creek Veterans Association has launched a mobile phone app that allows visitors to the city’s Veterans Memorial Walk at Newtown Park, 3150 Old Alabama Road, to get more information about the site.
It’ll allow them to go on unguided audio tours and learn about conflicts dating back to World War I, how women served in the military, the POW-MIA issue and other topics.
The walk is set on four acres and features 10 plazas marked by polished, etched monuments detailing American conflicts and those who served. It also contains a water feature, stone benches, a gazebo and night lighting.
The free app is available in both the iPhone and Android app stores.
