Johns Creek is asking residents to check their telephone bills to ensure a $1.50 fee for 911 service is being sent to the city.

Fulton County used to provide 911 service to the city and the fee was sent to the county. The city opened its own 911 center in September and should now receive the fee. The fee helps pay for location-based technology to ensure responders are sent to the correct location.

While most fees have been redirected to Johns Creek, city officials said some have not. Residents are also asked to complete a survey found on the city Web page, www.johnscreekga.gov.
