Huge adaptive reuse project Works at Chattahoochee has a new look

The developer planning a massive project to convert old Atlanta warehouses near the Topgolf complex into a mix of offices, apartments and boutiques, has released new renderings for the project. 

Atlanta-based Selig Development announced the Works at Chattahoochee project in August. The 80-acre development ultimately involves the redevelopment of more than three dozen brick warehouses, as well as the construction of new offices and apartments. 

The renderings show finer detail of the project, including a park, loft-style offices and “the Spur,” a planned 950-foot long platform structure between the office space and retail that is expected to feature outdoor seating, landscaping and art.

Last fall, Ballard Designs announced plans to move their flagship showroom to the site. The store will be part of 230,000 square feet of retail planned in the first phase. The Ballard store is expected to open this summer. 

The Works at Chattahoochee will rise along Chattahoochee Avenue, north of the future Westside Reservoir Park,  in what is being dubbed Atlanta’s Upper Westside. The section of the city, which isn’t quite Buckhead or Midtown, has seen rapid development in recent years.

Selig has said the 10-year development plan could one day include 500 residences, 600,000 square feet of office space, retail, restaurants and a hotel. 

Malloy Peterson, an executive at Selig, said the company plans to announce additional anchor retail tenants and restaurants during the first half of this year.
