The Duluth Police Department has received a donation of $6,901 from the Gwinnett Hospital System to purchase first aid kits for each patrol car. Because police officers are often the first to arrive at the scene, these first aid kits will allow them to provide assistance to injured victims until medical personnel arrive.

The Duluth City Council on Monday accepted the donation and a corresponding budget amendment to add $6,901 to the Police - Uniform Division - Police Equipment line item.
