Improvements to the Holcomb Bridge Road at Thrasher Street intersection in Norcross are near completion and traffic over the railroad tracks has reopened. The project is still on-going through the end of May while crews complete landscaping and clean up.

Prior to completion the intersection was mostly known for large trucks becoming stuck over the tracks due to a sharp incline approaching the intersection. Collision with oncoming trains have occurred more than once. Gwinnett DOT contractors raised the Thrasher Street/Holcomb Bridge intersection about 5 feet to provide a more moderate grade transition over the railroad tracks while improving visibility for drivers.
