Construction of the new Hickory Grove Road bridge over I-75 near the Cherokee-Cobb county line will bring nightly lane closures the rest of the week, the Georgia Department of Transportation advises.

Through Friday, northbound I-75 between Wade Green and Hickory Grove roads will have single lane closures starting at 9 p.m., and double lane closures from 10 p.m. to 5 a.m. Traffic pacing will take place between Chastain and Hickory Grove roads from midnight to 3 a.m.

Also, eastbound and westbound traffic on Hickory Grove will be flagged between Shiloh and Hamby roads from 9 p.m. to 5 a.m. through Friday.

The work is part of the Northwest Corridor project to add two, reversible, express toll lanes to I-75. A wider bridge at Hickory Grove will include an entrance ramp to the I-75 express lane for use in the mornings, and an exit lane to be used in the evening.
