An RV park next to I-75 has received a variance for its upcoming expansion.

The Henry County Zoning Advisory Board voted at its Nov. 14 regular meeting to approve a variance for an RV park at 281 Mount Olive Road, on the west side of I-75 just south of Jodeco Road, to allow relief from paved drive requirements regarding a proposed expansion of a four-acre section in the back of the property.

The applicant’s representative said that he wanted to avoid creating a great deal of impervious surface on the back side of the property, which is just north of the back side of the Henry Town Center retail complex, and preferred to keep it consistent with the rest of the park. The ZAB reversed a staff recommendation to deny the request and included conditions regarding roadway widths after some discussion regarding emergency vehicle access to the property.
