The Henry County Board of Education voted at its June 8 regular meeting to approve the expansion of its virtual program, known as Impact Academy, to allow students in kindergarten through fifth grade to participate. The program already serves middle school and high school students, providing a hybrid of virtual learning and direct interaction with district teachers while allowing students to incorporate classes at their zoned schools and also to participate in extracurricular activities there.

Plans are being made to determine the curriculum for elementary students and work out other details before the start of the 2020-2021 school year.
