Henry County’s first Boys and Girls Club location has been identified, and the Boys and Girls Clubs of Central Georgia will have access to the facility at the beginning of 2020.

The Henry County Board of Education approved at its Nov. 11 regular meeting the lease agreement for use of the former Henry County Middle School campus, which was vacated when the new McDonough Middle School opened at the beginning of the current school year. The BGCCG will pay one dollar per year for use of the site. The vote came a few days after the McDonough City Council approved its memorandum of understanding under which it will pay $150,000 per year for three years to the BGCCG, which will operate the facility.

The Henry County Board of Commissioners recently approved a memorandum of understanding for the same amount.
