The Henry County Board of Commissioners voted July 17 to approve an Aging Subgrant Contract with the Atlanta Regional Commission for the 2018-2019 fiscal year.

The county will receive $612,804.14 in federal and state funds. The local match is $37,712.86 and cost share/voluntary contributions are projected to be $11,300 and are included in the budget, according to county staff.

Services provided under this contract include case management, senior recreation, personal care, homemaker, respite, home delivered meals and congregate meals (served in the senior centers). Also approved was a contract with the Georgia Department of Human Services for transportation provided to elderly and disabled passengers.

Henry County Transit is the provider under the DHS Coordinated Transportation System, and the county could collect up to $535,063.24 this year under the contract.
