The Henry County Board of Commissioners approved a resolution expressing support of recent legislation creating the Atlanta-region Transit Link.

It was created “for the purpose of coordinated and integrated transit planning for the 13-county metro region through a regional transit plan,” according to the resolution itself. The vote, at the board’s Sept. 5 meeting, was 5-1 in favor of the resolution with Blake Prince casting the lone dissenting vote. The ATL authority is being organized now, and Henry County is in portions of two of its districts. One contains portions of DeKalb and Clayton, while the other includes parts of Coweta, Fayette and Clayton.

Commissioners expressed a desire to see perhaps two Henry Countians on the ATL authority representing both districts.
