The Henry County Board of Commissioners voted at its Feb. 5 regular meeting to approve a bid for an intersection improvement project at Campground Road and Highway 155 between Stockbridge and McDonough.

The work includes the addition of turning lanes and signal improvements, and the approved bid was from Pittman Construction Inc. in the amount of $859,709.15 for completion of the project, which is approved for funding by the county’s special purpose local-option sales tax.

A budget amendment was needed to allocate $543,493 for construction and utility relocation, and that money was taken from the account for the roundabout project at Lake Dow Road, Rodgers Road and Rosser Road — a project that has already been completed.
