The Hapeville City Council recently approved a prorated refund in the amount of $4,166.70 for the 2017 alcohol license fee for Crest Liquor at its regular meeting.

Harry Desai, the previous owner of the business which was sold on Feb. 15, had requested a refund of his 2017 alcohol beverage license fees. The total amount collected was $5,000.

The city council will approved entering into an agreement with the Georgia Department of Early Care and Learning for the Bright from the Start Summer Foods Program, which the Hoyt Smith Center/Hapeville Recreation Center has used for the past five years. The camp runs this year from June 8 through July 28. The $16,000 non-matching grant provides food to prepare breakfast and lunch for the summer campers and for the children under age 18 from around the Hapeville area - as well as adults age 19 and older with disabilities - Monday through Friday.

Among other agenda items, the council also OK’d details regarding an upcoming 5K route.
