The Hampton City Council voted at its Oct. 8 regular meeting to approve several new ordinances related to zoning in the city.

These include an ordinance giving new specifications regarding planned development districts and another that details public space requirements for mixed use districts. The council approved an ordinance that adds design standards for front porches and stoops in districts with residential development, and also passed a new measure with details on landscape requirements throughout the city.

An ordinance was approve providing exemptions from permitting requirements for signs erected in the city.
