Lilburn and Gwinnett County have reached a deal that will allow the county's police department to provide police radio dispatch and emergency calls for service.

Starting Friday, Gwinnett E-911 operators will handle Lilburn resident calls for police service. Lilburn police officers will still be first responders to those call, according to a release from the city.

In a written statement, the city said, "there will be no change in the promptness of public safety responses."
