Gwinnett officials recently cut the ribbons at the Bay Creek Precinct and Alternative 911 Center at 185 Ozora Road in Loganville.

The 12,117-square-foot police precinct will reinforce police presence and improve response times in the Loganville, Grayson and surrounding communities. The precinct facility provides command staff offices, a squad room, a fitness center and locker rooms and evidence storage space. It will also offer the public access to reports and a community meeting room.

The Alternate 911 Center offers reliable communication with officers and other agencies during critical incidents, including weather-related events, where communications might otherwise be compromised.

The $15.9 million project, which will officially open Dec. 14, was funded by the 2009, 2014 and 2017 SPLOST programs.
