Following the final of three public hearings, the Grayson City Council will vote at 6 p.m. July 8 at Grayson City Hall, 467 Grayson Pkwy. to adopt a millage rate of 2.10 mills. Due to increased property values and continued city growth, the proposed millage rate will result in a slight property tax increase of 2.79 percent.

When the total digest of taxable property is prepared, Georgia law requires a rollback millage rate must be calculated that will produce the same total revenue on the current year’s digest. The city must advertise a tax increase if not adopting the rollback millage rate.
