Gwinnett has applied for a Recreational Trails grant to help build a deck and boardwalk connection into the new amenity and parking area in Club Drive Park, 3330 Club Drive in Lawrenceville.

The area will be used as a trail head for the proposed Sweetwater Creek Greenway. The $100,000 grant would utilize $652,750 from the 2014 SPLOST fund as a match.

According to Parks and Recreation administrators, the grant requires a 20 percent match, but the improved match increases the chances of receiving the award.
