On Wednesday, Aug. 22, a portion of Glendale Drive, just south of McAfee Road, will be closed for approximately two days to two-way traffic to facilitate the installation of a new water distribution main, according to a press release. The repairs are part of the Glendale Drive Water Main Replacement Project.
Detour and road closure signs will be placed in the area advising motorists about construction work and local traffic restrictions. Flaggers will also be present to direct motorists safely through the construction work zone.
MARTA buses will be rerouted around the construction zone. Riders are urged to check the MARTA bus schedule to locate pickup and drop-off locations along the detour route. Motorists are encouraged to plan for traffic delays.
