Prom dress consignment sale needs helpers
Strength in Stilettos, a non-profit student organization dedicated to supporting, enhancing and empowering girls by promoting academic achievement and community service, will host its 6th Annual Prom Dress Consignment Sale 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. March 5 at Allatoona High School.
Proceeds from the sale benefit college scholarships for girls and programs at local schools. Since 2011, Strength in Stilettos has awarded $4,000 in scholarships, $2,500 in program grants to local schools and donated more than 400 dresses to girls in need.
Volunteers are needed to help with all aspects of the event.

Register for Volunteen program at DeKalb Medical
DeKalb Medical is accepting applications for its Summer Volunteen Program through Feb. 29. Registration is open to 14- to 18-year-olds with at least one year of high school course work completed. About 20 new teens are accepted into the program each year.
The DeKalb Medical Volunteen program allows students to assist hospital staff in various departments throughout the organization’s campuses. The students also participate in Lunch-and-Learn events with medical professionals to learn about various jobs in the healthcare field.
