Murphey Candler Park Conservancy Cleanup Day
As part of the Murphey Candler Park Conservancy’s Adopt the Park initiative, help clean up the area. Volunteers should bring waders, galoshes and gloves. Wear pants to protect your legs from briars and tree branches. Bring any tools such as clippers that would be helpful in collecting trash and cutting back invasive plants.
When: 1-4 p.m. today

Safe Kids North Fulton seeks volunteers
The Roswell Fire Department is announcing the launch of Safe Kids North Fulton, a coalition to fight the number one killer of children ages 14 and under – preventable injuries. To celebrate, Safe Kids North Fulton is hosting a kick-off event. The general public is invited to learn more about the program and how to get involved as a volunteer.
An affiliate of Safe Kids Georgia and Safe Kids Worldwide, the coalition in North Fulton includes the Roswell Fire Department, Roswell Police Department, Milton Fire Department, Sandy Springs Fire Rescue, Alpharetta Department of Public Safety, and Johns Creek Fire Department.
The coalition’s goal is to work toward reducing the number of children who die from motor vehicle and pedestrian injuries, bike crashes, fires and burns, drownings, poisonings and chokings, unintentional shootings, and falls. The group will tackle these issues through educational programs about the importance of passenger, pedestrian, bicycle, fire, home, water and sports safety.
