Parade participants sought
The city of Marietta is in desperate need of marching bands to participate in the 2016 July 4th Let Freedom Ring Parade. As always school bands, military units, civic organizations, beauty queens, local Boys and Girl Scout clubs, area businesses and others can sign up online to be part of the City’s biggest celebration of the year.
Parade applicants may apply online, fill out a form and mail to Marietta’s Parks and Recreation Department, or complete a form in the Parks and Recreation office at City Hall.
Deadline: 5 p.m. May 31

Help keep Piedmont Park beautiful
Volunteers sought for Piedmont Park Conservancy’s Clean and Green team. What’s needed:
• general landscape maintenance projects
• lake edge maintenance
• maintenance of playgrounds, public facilities and athletic areas
• dark park landscape projects
• watering trees, shrubs and flowers park-wide
When: 9 a.m. to noon Tuesdays through Fridays
