Decatur sponsors ‘community work day’

The Decatur High School garden plots will be turned into a parking lotas part of the redesign and construction of the new school. Officials are seeking funding to eventually bring back the greenspace as a roof garden. In the meantime, volunteers are needed to clear the land to be paved over.

• general landscape maintenance projects

• lake edge maintenance

• maintenance of playgrounds, public facilities, and athletic areas

• dark park landscape projects

• watering trees, shrubs, & flowers park-wide
