Acworth city officials participated Dec. 6 in the ribbon-cutting ceremony for Georgia Trade School at 4231 Southside Drive, Acworth.

Mayor Tommy Allegood congratulated owners Ryan and JoAnna Blythe. Calling it “the nation’s premier independent welding school,” Georgia Trade School provides best-in-class training on the newest cutting-edge welding technology, according to the Blythes.

Moving from Kennesaw, the school now is located in Acworth’s historic business district in a 30,000-square-foot building that is nearly four times the size of its previous location with 25 welding booths instead of 15 with room for growth.

The school has employer partnerships with unions and shipbuilding, manufacturing, energy and construction companies.
