A 31-year-old man became a new Georgian and a new millionaire in less than a month.

Joseph Burnette never thought moving to Georgia would make him rich.

Earlier this month, the fairgrounds concessions worker moved to Henry County from Fredericksburg, Va.

He bought the $2.5 million Millionaire Jumbo Bucks ticket when he stopped for gas at a Citgo at 115 Highway 138 W. in Stockbridge.

"I was going for gas, and I paid for it," Burnette explained, but winning changed his plans.

"I didn't even get the gas. I fell down," he said.

The newcomer claimed his prize Wednesday at Georgia Lottery headquarters in Atlanta.

"I'm going to get a car and a computer," Burnette said about his plans.
