The Fulton County Board of Commissioners recently appointed commissioner Joan Garner as vice chairman.

The board also approved a memorandum of understanding between the county and the Georgia Department of Transportation for the installation of water facilities associated with the road improvement project for S.R. 9 Highway from Upper Hembree Road to Windward Parkway.

The project includes about 14,850 linear feet of 6-inch, 8-inch, 10-inch and 12-inch water line installation. The estimated cost of the project is $2.7 million.

Commissioners also agreed to renew existing contracts for countywide armored car services in the amount of $200,000 with Dunbar Armored Inc. The company will provide armored car services throughout the county as needed. Effective dates are Jan. 1 through Dec. 31.
