Yes, you can have free waffles — so many free waffles.

That's according to Tiara Johnson, a manager with the downtown Decatur Waffle House, which is hosting a waffle eating contest from 5 to 7 p.m. Friday.

It's in observance of National Waffle Week, which exists, according to Waffle House.

Johnson is pumped.

“Everybody come out and eat free waffles!” she said Wednesday.

The winners get a trophy, medal, or "different prizes," including Waffle House memorabilia, Johnson said.

The restaurant is at 515 North McDonough St.
