As fall settles in, DeKalb residents can enjoy a day of free food and family fun at The DeKalb County Mobile Farmers Market fall harvest festival.

The festival will be held from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Sept 29 at the DeKalb County Extension Office on 4380 Memorial Drive in Decatur.

Attendees can purchase discounted produce and other goods from vendors in the DeKalb County community. There will also be giveaways and kid-friendly games.

Now in its fourth year, the DeKalb Mobile Farmers Market began as a way to improve the health and well-being of DeKalb residents by providing nutrition education and access to fresh produce. The market is a program of the DeKalb County Cooperative Extension, the DeKalb County government, and the DeKalb County Board of Health.

The program is funded by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention.
