A public meeting about the Franklin Road Redevelopment Bond has been changed from Tuesday to next week by Marietta Mayor Steve Tumlin and the city council.

The drop-in meeting will be 5 to 7 p.m. Nov. 16 in the Jay Whorton Room, Radisson Hotel, 1775 Parkway Place, Marietta.

City officials will give an update to residents, businesses and property owners on the redevelopment progress and gather comments on the possible name change of Franklin Road to Gateway Boulevard.

After removing many of the deteriorating apartment complexes on Franklin Road, Marietta officials are considering changing the name to attract upscale developers.

The name change would affect all of Franklin Road from Banberry Road to Cobb Parkway.
