Voters in Alpharetta will have two chances to hear from candidates for the city’s upcoming special election.

The Alpharetta Business Association will host two candidate forums ahead of the election, where voters will have the chance to ask candidates questions and hear them discuss issues.

A forum for the candidates running for the city council posts will be held Monday, April 23 from 6:30 to 8 p.m. All four candidates will be participating.

A second forum, for the two mayoral candidates, will be held Tuesday, May 1, from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m.

Both forums will be held at Alpharetta’s City Hall in the multi-purpose room on the first floor. They will be moderated by Alpharetta Business Association President John Ray. The events are free and open to the public.

Candidates for mayor are former councilmen, Jim Gilvin and Chris Owens. Candidates for the two open council seats are Katie Harding, Karen Richard, John Hipes and Clifford Martin.

The election is set for May 22.
