About 15 families were notified by letter Tuesday that some preschoolers at Oak Grove Academy in Alpharetta may have been exposed to tuberculosis.
Academy owner Joe Fowler confirmed Wednesday that officials from the Forsyth County Health Department had been out to test employees Tuesday.
"Our staff who were present came back negative," Fowler said. He would not elaborate further on the testing, saying he risked violating privacy laws.
The school has an enrollment of about 120 children.
"The letter just said there had been a case of tuberculosis discovered at the school, and that we were notifying the parents that the Forsyth County Health Department would be handling everything," Fowler said.
The students in the room that were potentially exposed will be tested Friday, Fowler said. If skin tests come back positive, further tests will need to be conducted.
In the meantime, Oak Grove will continue to operate on its regular schedule.
"The doors are still open, and everybody's here," Fowler said. "We've got great parents who've been extremely supportive, and I greatly appreciate them."
