Forsyth County officials are offering residents a chance to help shape the county’s long-term prospects. Officials are updating the county’s comprehensive plan, which includes housing, transportation, zoning and economic categories. It’s a 20-year look-ahead aimed at guiding future development.

Two public hearings and several meetings are planned. The hearings will come at 5 p.m. Thursday and April 7 as part of Forsyth County Board of Commissioners meetings at the county administration building, 110 E. Main St. in Cumming. The hearings will introduce the purpose of the update and lay out timelines and processes.

A joint meeting of the Vision and Steering Committees is planned for 6-8 p.m. April 11 at the administration building. It’s the first of a series planned to stretch through the summer to create the new document. County commissioners are scheduled to adopt the plan in December.
