Forest Parks’s city council met on Monday night, despite having no agenda because the city manager is supposed to present the agenda four days before the meeting, and there’s no city manager.

The council voted to remove the former manager, Frank Brandon, earlier this month and have not replaced him. A majority of the council wanted to place City Analyst Angela Redding as interim, but Mayor David Lockhart vetoed that placement, and called for a special meeting to discuss options.

When three council members didn’t show up for that meeting, no action could be taken.

A motion to discuss the council’s options for an interim city manager was made, but no discussion took place. The sentiment of the three council members who voted not to renew Brandon’s contract is that the decision has already been made, thus no discussion is necessary.

Lockhart said he is concerned about day-to-day business being negatively affected without a city manager, but has faith any problems stemming from the city’s lack of a city manager is only short term.
