What storm?
If you're a metro Atlantan enjoying Memorial Day, you'll likely be asking that question.
Tropical Storm Beryl, so designated by the National Weather Service, is expected to lose steam, Channel 2 Action News meteorologist Karen Minton predicts.
"It will probably be downgraded to a depression," Minton said.
The second storm this year to earn a name prior to the June 1 start of hurricane season is the cause for the cooler temperatures and cloudy skies over metro Atlanta. And forecasters do expect some showers late this evening to the south and east of the region.
But the storm is now swirling along the north Florida and southeast Georgia coastline is showing indications that it will have mostly moved on by Tuesday, leaving only a smattering of precipitation in its wake.
"We're not going to see a huge impact from the storm," Minton said.
To be sure, she said that rain expected for later in the week will be a lingering remnant, as the storm peters off on its way up the coastline and back out to sea.
"Any moisture we get is going to be from the tropical storm," Minton said.
But, Atlanta Braves fans shouldn't worry about weather spoiling the holiday game, scheduled to start at 1 p.m.
Although the mid-80s temperatures and light breeze at game-time could be a welcome side effect of Beryl.
Highs peak at 90 on Wednesday, but continue in the 80s through the rest of the week, forecasters predict.
