Fayetteville police are asking for the public’s help to identify a man sought in connection with an alleged robbery on Dec. 23 at the Kroger at 805 S. Glynn Street.

The city says a man was seen shoplifting by the store manager, who then confronted the subject and attempted to call police. The man reportedly “snatched the cell phone from the employee’s hand that was being used to call 9-1-1” before fleeing the location in what police believe to be an older model white Chevrolet Tahoe, based on surveillance video. The suspect was wearing a royal blue jumpsuit with what appears to be a tag attached to the front zipper, as well as a red and white hat and possibly a backpack.

Anyone with information is asked to call Detective Tyler Simpson at 770-719-4227 or email tsimpson@fayetteville-ga.gov. Tips can also be called in anonymously to Crime Stoppers of Greater Atlanta at 404-577-TIPS (8477) for possible rewards.
