The city of Fayetteville is reminding residents that signs for yard sales and similar events must be placed legally.

City ordinances stipulate that such signs cannot be put in the public right-of-way along roadsides, and cannot be put on private property without permission; even authorized signs are limited to two per property. Complete regulations are listed at https://library.municode.com/ga/fayetteville under Section 6-6(d). Questions can also be directed to the city’s Code Enforcement department at 770-719-4150.

The department said signs will be confiscated on the first offense, and repeated violations could result in “other action.”
