Fayette County officials and staff gathered Thursday morning for the official dedication of the Department of Fire and Emergency Services’ new Emergency Operations Center in Fayetteville. The 4,800-square-foot building was funded by $1.1 million in grants from the federal and Georgia emergency management agencies. Equipped with state-of-the-art visual, computer, security and communications equipment, the facility will serve as the coordinating point for disaster responses and recovery, and for training.
