Fayette County schools are getting new computers for their media centers.

The Board of Education voted 5-0 Monday to spend just under $700,000 of ESPLOST funds for 418 all-in-one desktop computers and 720 Chromebooks or Microsoft mobile devices. Each school will be given the option to purchase one mobile cart containing 30 devices. The computer lab in the Community School will also receive 12 new desktop units for student and staff use, at a cost not to exceed $11,676 from ESPLOST revenue.
