Fayette County Public Schools is about to adopt new curriculum materials for its health and physical education classes, and wants community input.
The county’s stated goal is to find resources that “will accelerate students’ knowledge of health and physical education topics to prepare them to lead healthy and physically active lives while engaging them in the use of 21st Century technology.” The Board of Education is forming a stakeholder committee to review and evaluate materials that will be submitted for consideration by vendors; anyone interested in being considered for appointment should complete the survey form at bit.ly/FayetteHPECommitteeSurvey by Oct. 31. A timeline explaining the materials adoption process is at bit.ly/FayetteHPEAdoption.
All materials recommended by the committee will be available for public review in the spring before the board makes a final decision.
